High Hopes in the French Alps

A Clouds Tale…

The clouds began a story yesterday, and fulfilled it today. When the high cirrus, and lenticulars were moving in  and gathering momentum, we were expecting the conditions to deteriorte, and true to their form, they did.  Today, the sky is granite grey,  fully loaded and precipitating.  In the lower valley, it started off sleeting, but as the day progressed it evolved into snow, so that means much more snow up high!  Just what the slopes need.  At this rate, we may be able to ski back to the house, soon if it remains deep enough.

We’ve work to do on the Chalet, as we’ve guests arriving, and airport transfers, booked, for today and tomorrow.  The weather is supposed to improve on Sunday, so it’s only a temporary intermission, for the snow arrival.   We couldn’t have timed the work  more perfectly even if we’d had an agreement with the Four Winds of the Earth!
