High Hopes in the French Alps

Cool Autumnal Edge

Flyable weather returned today. Dennis was out early with Emile and Neil a busy day, with five flights managed for Emile who is now launching and landing himself completely unassisted… CP rating almost clinched!

I had a couple of nice flights… it did smell and feel positively autumnal, with snow on the Fiz peaks this morning low cloud which lifted eventually. The snow melted although there’s been about a metre of fresh snow on the high Chamonix peaks, mind you you don’t want to go skiing yet unless you want to start an avalanche! precarious layers at the moment, which are probably going to melt by the latter part of the week seeings as the summer temperatures are supposed to be returning. Tomorrow is apparently, going to be better flying weather. Not much at all in the way of thermal activity… just a flat out with weak spots of lift but that was about all.

No pics, seems I’ve been duped by the internet order I placed, being told that my order was ‘in stock’ and after phoning them discovered that it hasn’t even been dispatched yet as they are awaiting a delivery….
