High Hopes in the French Alps

Winter Walking

Still no skiing 😦 the snow’s here and it’ll not be long now. Apparently they are skiing up in Tignes and Val d’Isère but they are around 2000 mtrs. There was some very limited skiing at Les Grands Montets yesterday for the first time but only one or two lifts were open so it would have been very busy. Everything is due to open on the 4th December so only another five days before we hit those slopes. Have just discovered that Plan Praz is open today, but not for skiing. If you’d like to check out what’s open and what’s not in the Chamonix valley have a look here and click on the ‘Status’ of the area of interest.

going for our walk

We had snow overnight and all the way down here so it should be good up on the slopes. Meanwhile I’ve been busy having been forced into the situation of having to read the flipping ‘Instructions’ for my camera as I’ve gone and pressed some button that has some ‘effect’ that I want to get rid off but can’t, blinking thing.

Did my usual walk with Tizzy, I love this weather, it’s so, exhilirating and looks simply beautiful!!  Tizzy loves it! she goes nuts, running around diving and jumping about buries her nose deep into the stuff, tail wagging, belly flopped in it, runs off catches snowballs… chomps on it… she’s a real winter dog! She really makes me enjoy myself even if I’m not it the mood!
