High Hopes in the French Alps

Christmas Eve

Turned out to be a snowy one… didn’t stop snowing all day, lovely tiny little powder flakes. Was restricted to the usual Christmas preparations whilst Dennis was out on a couple of Transfers.  He had an early one to Flaine and a late request for this evening. I can’t believe how late people leave their Transfer arrangements sometimes, arriving in the evening without Transfers arranged in quite severe weather conditions!!.

Fire in the Snow

We had a lot of work to do on the Chalet with laundry, cleaning, polishing and what not… not jobs I relish I have to admit, but we have a house full of clients arriving on Sunday so today was the best day to do it, giving us tomorrow relatively free. The snow didn’t stop and Tizzy and me went for our usual walk, I never realised that one of the delapidated huts next to the farm down the road was a fireplace, there was a surprising roaring fire going, could’ve cooked a complete Christmas dinner in it!

I put my request in to Santa, for some Motivation and Discipline, these seem to be what I lack most of the time! We’ll see what gets delivered… don’t know if I’ve been all that good afterall?!

The snow continued all night, the sun doesn’t look like it’s going to put in an appearance according to the weather forecast for tomorrow, but the snow condition should be exceptional. Hopefully we’ll get out to ski although probably wont see much!

Quiet evening in…
