High Hopes in the French Alps

Boxing Day…

…. was spent on the road. An extremely busy Transfer day.

I was manning the schedules, basically seeing what was coming and going, and on standby for a pick-up if delays occured. It turned out I was needed so had to drive up snowy mountain roads in the mini-bus where halfway up in the most inconvenient place someone had broken down. Stuck on a mountain road on snow, in the dark with barely any place to pass was a nightmare! That and the added concerns of picking up Transfer clients in time whilst sandwiched between traffic was not a joyful experience, I can tell you!

Anyway, managed to collect them but the door of the bus had frozen solid and there was no way to open it! Thankfully, it was a family with a young lad who could climb over the front seat and sit in the back whilst the adults sat in the front with me. It went relatively well, so long as we’d got three wheels on the road I knew we’d be fine, the rest was generally hitch free, getting to the airport all in good time, a veritable mini-adventure!
