Alptitude!

High Hopes in the French Alps

Flying with Feathers

my thermalling feathered friend!

We had stuff to do early in the morning but managed to get out and fly around 2pm.

What a lovely afternoon! It was great, nice climbs and equally nice glides out into the valley, getting climbs back up and out, just a really pleasant afternoons flying. Nothing desperate, was just great to fly around with the locals Chris arrived and we flew together for a while, as well as Mathieu and a couple of Chamonix locals showed up here too.

It was altogether really  pleasurable, and the best flight of the year so far.  I would like to try a different harness with the Delta though, I’m finding that turning is bit more of an effort. On one of my climbs I had the great honour of being accompanied by a raptor, not sure what it was buzzard, eagle, or kite… don’t think it was a kite couldn’t quite see the tail… but it’s always a marvel when they come along and join you… wonderful!
