High Hopes in the French Alps

Background Wash, Wash Out

Megeve School, visiting Plaine Joux

Yep we flew… but it was all over far too quickly.  A flat grey blanket sky with just a shade of deeper / paler grey cumulus formed the background wash that wasn’t going to produce anything other than rain. And rain it did, it arrived after we’d all landed, and it looks like it’s here to stay for tomorrow.

Still it was nice to get in the air, float around in continuous sink, and land on dry grass before it became sodden again. The rest of the day spent back at the ranch.

They had a task at the Ozone Chabre 2011 competition yesterday, but it seems they’ve had similar weather disruptions today.
